Owner, Avidan Edelsberg set out to create an innovative fitness concept – Fitbox Method. His main goal was to create a unique fitness experience and lifestyle workout making non-contact boxing fun and accessible to everyone. After spending a year researching and consulting with various fitness industry experts Edelsberg found that although non-contact boxing provides a great workout, it can also result in a loss of muscle mass due to excessive calorie burn. This conclusive research is what led him to create a Fitbox, his original method that combines circuit training through cardio boxing & resistance training with high intensity interval training that sculpts the body – torching fat and building lean muscle mass.
I had a one on one session with Team Captain, Roly Bolaños and got to learn more about what makes him a great instructor.
To me, FitBox is a movement. Its revolutionary. It’s where trendy and chic collide with grit and muscle fused with a night club atmosphere to bring the customer the most exciting, exhilarating yet exhausting workout in one hour, anywhere.
1. What keeps you motivated?
Every day I find motivation in life itself. Im motivated by the client that wakes up every day at 4am to make to the gym. I’m motivated by the single mom that’s balancing two jobs, school and parenthood and still finds time to make it to the gym. I’m motivated by the kids I teach that are tireless and excited about being fit and exercising. I’m motivated by the clients that fill my classes day in and day out because they enjoy my class and believe in me. That’s exciting! That drives me!
2. What are your future goals, dreams and plans?
I love the teaching process but I also enjoy the business and management side of the business. I see myself developing Trainers and assisting in the development of our brand here at FitBox Method. Maybe one day I’ll have my own Fitbox Method (wink wink)…
3. What are some of the biggest training mistakes you’ve made?
Overtraining. I went through a phase as a Crossfit Athlete when I was training 2-3 hours a day every day. Eventually it took its toll on my body and I injured myself and was sidelined for a couple months. Moral of the story. Sometimes less is more.
