After last month’s yoga session with Dave Hayes, I decided to kick things up and do something I’ve always wanted to do, boxing. I knew a couple of guys would find someone that was local in Miami and had a talent for teaching new people to the sport. Which is how I met PJ Venturino. A little background info about PJ, he’s originally from New York but now a Florida resident. I asked if he would ever move back he said he could never leave the Florida weather.
Originally PJ got his first certification at the age of 19. PJ knew what he wanted to do right from the start. He was always active in sports, namely basketball, football and track. His addiction to the sport drove him to make it his career which has lead him to train with a style all his own. PJ is also has a college degree in Business Management.
His own training consists of a wide variety of training methods (strength training, speed training, kickboxing, muay thai, agility, plyometrics, calisthenics, yoga, endurance, etc.) The way I train clients varies based upon their individual goals. His certifications include Personal Trainer, Group Trainer, Kickboxing Instructor, Kettlebell Instructor, Dotfit (nutrition), CPR/AED.
The human body is extremely complex and you can never know too much about yourself and your capabilities. There’s always more to learn and the knowledge is never ending. In addition, nutritional consumption is often underestimated. You are what you eat and that alone will dictate overall health and physical progress. I preach to client and people in general to lead an overall healthy lifestyle while keeping everything in balance. The happier you are with yourself the more positive vibes you will send out to those around you and therefore you enable yourself to lead a better quality of life.
PJ also teaches small and large group classes a few days a week, primarily outdoors through BeatTheGym. The overall goal is to touch as many lives as possible in a positive and useful manner in order for them to develop more self confidence and self esteem as well as offer a healthy way to relieve stress.
I take pride in what I do and take it very seriously as well as I’ve experienced first hand how it can help each individual feel better about themselves.
